Antenna for ToA Lightning System

Instead of often used 8 turns rhomb antenna you can try this one
made by cheap 75 Ohm TV-cable
3 turns where the shield are broken in the middle - as shown
Diameter 180 cm
Perimeter 565 cm
Connection 20-30 cm
Area 2,54 m2
Area total with 3 turns = 7,6 m2
Total lengh for each loop = 3*565 + 20 + 20 = 17,3 m

Inductance = 60uH -  Self-Resonans = 2,1 MHz (unterminated)

This is 1,5 times more than a 8 turns antenna with a diameter of 90 cm
Mine is placed under the roof, bound up with a thin plastic wire
The form are “special” quadro/circle :-)
It´s not the form, but the area that counts

There are no need to place it outside -
but it shall be placed far from old TV-sets due to the strong magnetic field at 15625 Hz ( more than 7-8 m)
